anodized, imron, or powder coat?

Having some parts hard inodized and was wondering what would be best for my tabs, and gembles? Imron, inodized or powder coat. The drive will be imron, black with a gray lower.

Imron. Easy to repair if need be.

X2 or ppg concept. Both tough as nails

I have some aluminum vents on the back of my personal boat that have been there since new in 2003. The powder coating splits at the hard edges and comes off every couple years and I've been replacing them each time. PITA, almost 2 person job depending on how you address it just to replace them, not to mention expense and hassle.

2 years ago, I was in a rush; no time for shipping new ones in before season opening Poker Run. I dipped them in paint gun cleaner for a few hours, lightly sanded, primed and sprayed with Rustoleum. It was just a cheap & quick job, and they look better after 2 seasons of use than the new ones do at the end of 1 summer.

Paint is the right choice. Same goes with the trim tabs and lowers IMHO.

I agree with others on the Imron. Properly prepped, that stuff will last forever. Painted my outdrive with it, and it still looks great 10 years later.

I had to strip a 69 Z/28 years ago that was painted with yellow Imron. Talk about a PITA!
