Looking at a hynautic hydro steering kit..explain it all to me...
I am looking at a used set up to add on to my Baja. The kit came off a 31 footer, that had twins, I only have a single, so the set up has two rams. Can I use both rams on the single, one on each side of the outdrive? Explain the hynautic set up to me..I heard it doesn't use a power steering pump? Is it a good set up for a performance boat? Or is it more of a houseboat set up? The kit that Im looking at doesn't have the swivel ends on it, it has the ball and rod end type, can this be converted?

I had a hynautic on my old boat, set up myself with twins. I would say you do need swivel joints, because as the outdrives trim up and down you will need the added movement.
And correct, you dont need a power steering pump, its an air pressurized system. Careful what helm you get because some are none to have MANY turns, left to right, too many infact. I had the H42 model and wouldnt suggest any of the lower ones. You can use 2 rams on a single outdrive as well.
