There are tons of posts on this topic which you can dig into by using the search function.

Depending on how your filters are mounted, anti-drain back valves are important. Most boats sit a fair amount. You don't want your oiling system taking the extra time to fill the oil filter and lines again before providing positive pressure to the motor.

I went from a fram PH 30 to a TG5. Bigger filter that holds more oil.
