Glazed cylinders
When I tryed to start my motor, I discovered that I had a bad power valve. I did put a lot of unburned fuel in the motor. The motor was a new 540. When I got it to run it seemed okay. Is there a way to tell if you have glazed the cylinder walls???
I have been pushing some oil but it only has about 4 hours on the motor. Thanks /Sheikman |
with only 4 hours on the motor, you will use some oil, i dont believe a blown power valve will cause you much trouble, but load up and thin out your oil, if you caught it early you are ok, keep an eye on your oil, and after 20 hours your engine should be broke in, if you have forged pistons, you have to set a little more clearance so they will use a little more oil than a engine with cast pistons
