Cord, I still have the stock arrangement that doesn't seam to charge ENOUGH at an idle (at night).Daytime its fine 2000rpm at night it's fine. Just idling in no wake zones at night is the problem. Thats why i'm going to lager , single wire alts.

Rev it up over 1800 RPMS after you start it. Merc alternators won't star charging until it sees that RPM.

thanks for the input....

B = Battery (output)

EXC = exciter lead to switched ignition

S = non switched ignition (battery hot )

L2 = not needed

P = not needed

E = not needed

I believe that merc also installs a ground. Not really sure if it's needed though...

I was going to just hit the alt housing with a ground .... should work shouldn't it ?
