MSD 6M-2 rev limiting?

With MSD 6m-2 ignition boxes on 500EFI's, if you have standard 6M-2's without a soft-touch rev control module, is there ANY limiting capability? I understand if you have 6M-2L's, then you would plug a RPM chip module right into the plug coming off the unit, WITHOUT a separate Soft-touch unit. Hope I haven't confused anyone? Keith

The 6m2 needs a separate module that plugs into the wiring harness to use the chips.

Your Mefi3 ecm will limit RPM's with or without the MSD box. The stock setting in the ecm is 5400 rpm. Unless your ecm was reprogrammed, then that's where it will be set.

This is why I love OSO, you guys are the greatest. Eddie, your explanation is better than MSD tech lines, and perfectly answers my question. Thanks again all, KS.
