I am looking for the older 4 wire harness only with the relay - vintage 1999. I have the solenoids. someone took the harness and I need a new one. Anyone have an idea where I can get one of these, Thanks

Ebay would be about the only place. I changed over to new relays and harness this year and gave my old relays and harness to another on another forum.

If you have an electrical back ground you can make your own harness. You need 2-relays, one regular SPST and one time delay relay also DPDT. Your time delay relay needs to be adjustable for about 5 seconds or fixed. The solenoids have 4 wires, White and Green for initial pull-in power, and Red and Green for hold solenoid power. Run power to the first relay and set it up to apply direct battery voltage to the Time-delay DPDT relay which will apply 12V to the white wire and GND to the Green wire. After 5 seconds the time delay will shift 12V to the red wire and GND to the black wire.

I have read that there is an amp decrease in the hold position from 35a to 7a is this true if so do i have to buy specific relays?

I would say it's more in the 25amp initial, and 7 is a good figure for hold. Keep in mind the surge is for only about 5 seconds and is divided between two solenoids. Your first relay needs to be at least 20amp and 30amp would be better. Using a solid state type would reduce size but this would be up to you. Need a 15 to 20 amp DPDT time delay relay. The DPDT has two sets of contact which each set will go to a separate solenoid
