1988 TRS inner transom plate removal
When removing the inner plate! Does the exhaust outlet slide into the outer transom assembly or must you remove the 3 or four 3/8" bolts that look like they hold that exhaust piece that looks like it slides into the outer transom plate.I haven't done this is a while.ANY help would be appreciated. Before I end up breaking something. Thanks JOHN SR

sounds like you are describing alpha or bravo stuff. the TRS has 2 exhaust outlets (inlets?) on the inner transom, one on each side. there is one on ebay with a few pictures. search trs gimble note spelling.

No this is TRS in my boat .Trs also has two block off plates on either side for exhaust. Alpha and Bravo Y pipe bolt to the outer transom Assembly with 3 bolts.TRS does not use a Y pipe. But the back side of the inner has a Exhaust box bolted and it looks like it just slides into the outer. But I'm not sure and don't want to pry on it and break something. That is why I asked this question Thanks JOHN SR

It does what you think, slide in .There is an o-ring in a groove in the inside of the outer plate .Probably just corroded and stuck

looked at some pics. cleveland craigslist has one set for sale pretty good pics. just the 8 thru studs.
