Not. Sure the. 10::5:1 From the info I have when I bought the boat

Procomp heads, 10.5:1 compression, overcammed, 110LSA........................

Let me guess, the builder was into cars not boats............

Thinking on this subject, has anyone eard from Harold Brookshire (Ultradyne cams)
Last I heard he was recovering from a heart attack in 2012

I was down at Bullet Cams in Oct 2013 picking up a nasty little flat tappet cam for my 302 Mercury 68 Cougar, and two new roller cams for my boat, Tim, James and I did talk old school and Harold came up but no discussion about health issues. Last I heard he was doing well over at Lunati.

I just pulled similar UltraDyne solid roller cams out of my 454's. @ 0.050" 252/264. 0.632"/0.632" 108LSA
I had Bob M. build me 2 cams last spring. Brought my power band down from 6500 to 56-5800.
Propped up a few pitches. Gained cruise and much better GPH burn. Not blowing straight gas out the exhaust. lol

Have to say, when I pulled my motor out of the jet boat and re-cam'd it for the 28 footer I told Harold I wanted decent idle, nasty sound from 1-4 k and all the power I could get to 6500.

It pretty much spits fuel at 2k, but I never drive it at that rpm.

I dont know if they Bob and Harold know each other, but the time they are willing to spend with a potential customer is priceless

Witch one should I use? Bob or Harold. Thanks for the help also. The cams seemed off to me and as far as the heads well that's not in the budget.

Last number I have for Harold 662-562-4933. he is a cam designer. Bob will look at your complete engine package and make recomendations. I dont think you can go wrong with either one.

I dont know Harold, so I cant say anything about him. However, on oso, you find many happy customers who have went with Bob Madera's cams.

Lol notice didn't ask what cam to buy. Just is this one I have worth a crap. And the money tree doesn't have the funds to finish the whole boat restoration and do a whole top end.

I know the cam question is a very delicate subject.

Not that I'm promoting the Procomp heads... I saw that there was a pair on the flow bench a few months ago so
I asked Jim how they flowed, he said surprisingly well with a little work. He did mention that the cores were not consistent
and the walls varied so be careful if you remove any material. So if that is all you have run them. I'll see if I can get the final flow #'s.
