We finally got to test this set up in real conditions today. Although the weather was not conducive for a pleasurable, lengthy run, we did manage to get things run in. I am happy to say that everything is working as expected. So as not to disturb the ECU mapping, I installed OEM 140* t-stats. Water temps stayed right where they were before the addition of the closed cooling. Ofcourse, John didnt push the new engines, but he did crack the throttles just a bit on the way back. I am real confident that things will work out, even under full load at wot.

It was a lot of work, but it seems like it was worth it. As we were idling back to the dock, I said to John " We both know this whole thing we do is so damn stupid. It doesnt make any sense to spend this much money and go through all that work. "

BUT, once you hear the sound of the engines, the wind in your face, just the entire experience, makes it all worth the while. In addition, personally for me, its knowing that I improved on something.
So, I guess thats what is all about.

I have to admit, I have all the confidence in the world in Vinny and his knowledge, but yesterday I was feeling some "anxiety" all day knowing we were going for our 1st run. As Vinny said before it all worked out and the boat ran great. I am extremely fortunate to have Vinny as a friend, and also as an engine builder.......thanks again for everything Vinny....... job well done...... now lets burn some gas !!

Bob,
You had a hand in this as well. Your cams, lifters and springs are in those engines..

Thanks for the help.
