Canīt check the gearing beacuse of the bottom paint.
The altitude is 465 ft. I think that the prop I have is the origanal prop (Quicksilver I think????) |
well the alt isnt a prob then. your drive leg is painted??? Are you sure the prop you are using is a 21? If your gearing is 1:50 ... a 21 " prop should be about right. If you are geared higher than that ie 195 , you may need a higher pitch.

Move as much weight rearward as possible. Store heavier items in the rear storage compartments. Store only lightweight items in the nose.
I agree that you should see over 50 mph, but have a friend with a 250hp Mercruiser in a 202 Crownline that runs only 49, and I know his boat is lighter thna yours... |
The prop Iīm using is marked 48-16318-21. Do anyone know the brand???
|
According to the serialnumber the gearing should be 1:50

Hmmmmmm sorry buddy Im out of good ideas. sj

I bet the bottom paint is slowing you at least 3-5 miles per hour, it's common to lose 2 mph by just waxing the bottom, here is an easy way to tell if your trimed for max speed if the spray from your hull is only coming from the rear 1/4 of your boat thats perfect, if its in the middle or towards your bow you need more trim to get the hull out of the water

When the boat is in the water it "leans" over to the starboard side a lot, about 3,9 inches. Should it be so????
When a drive the boat the spray from the water is coming most from the starboard side. |
Maybe your boat isn't slow as u think. Maybe just your gauge is slow. I would double check with a GPS.

slow boat
Hi the lean should not slow you that bad but can be real anoying are bolth your batterys on the same side and an ancher also? My Wellcraft came with the batterys on the driver's side and it leaned real bad with just me in the boat, so I moved them to the other side. I even got .9 on the GPS more! Charlie
