Default Glue for bunk carpet??

I am putting all new bunk boards and carpet on my trailer. The carpet I bought has a rubber backing and says it can be glued down. I am also going to be using stainless steel staples. Question is, who knows what glue to use ????

Thx

Smitty

Just average outdoor carpet glue has worked for me.
Source from Lowes, Home Depot or the like.

Slather it thin on the face of the 2x6s with a plastic putty knife.

I've had the same quart for years but it's pretty well dried up now.

Thats a good point that , rubber backing doesn`t last long when wet, it starts to fall apart.

What Sydwayz said, outdoor carpet glue from hardware store. Did mine last year, troweled it on.

I've never used glue. Don't see the need for it. Pull the carpet good and tight and Monel staples. Never had an issue with the carpet shifting or coming loose.

The carpet is made specifically for bunks. Same stuff Heritage used when they built the trailer. I am going to glue the face that hits the hull and then pull it tight and wrap 2X6 and staple under edge.
