Silent Choice won't open

Good Morning:

Looking for some advice. I have electric silent choice and my starboard side won't open. I can hear the solenoids "clicking" but still goes through the prop. There is a delay between the port and starboard, I can hear it click twice. Both pipes remained closed on the starboard side. Any ideas for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Corsa and they can walk you through the trouble-shooting procedures and hook you up with a PDF that shows the wiring schematic. They can also tell you how to adjust them if that is all it needs. If you can easily pull the levers open and they stay open after you hit the switch to open the exhaust it is probably just a simple adjustment to move the plungers closer. I used to work with a Jim Browning there but not sure if he is still around.

THANKS!!! I'll give them a call

Had the same problem with mine come to find out the batteries where low, the solenoids need a full 12 volts to operate. Don't know if its your problem but charging batteries fixed mine.

Mine one side gets stuck about once a year. I put a tiny bit of lithium grease on my finger and put it on the rod that goes in the actuator and that seems to clear it up.

Sounds like a battery issue. Probably a bit on the low side....

Can't be a battery issue I tried to open them with the key off, while running at idle and at speed. I am waiting to hear back from Corsa so I can have the diagram. I am going to try to move them by hand and try some CRC to lube them up. If that doesn't get it then I guess a couple of new solenoids are in order.

Mine are completely intolerant of low voltage, they close before the light idiot light on the dash illuminates.

Can you open them manually after you turn the switch on? If so, its the batteries

MILLERIME 04-17-2014 05:54 AM

I'm going to try to open them manually this weekend. If I can open them manually do you think I should switch my batteries? What I mean is physically switching the batteries not flipping the switches?
