Blower Information Stamp ?

I recently purchased a nice 871 from a member here . On it are stamped these numbers and letters 02052202MSPW . I understand the numbers mean this blower was the second one built 05/22/02 . I can't seem to find out what the letters MSPW mean . Can anyone help a brother out ? May not be important but then again . Thanks

Well I tried both places mentioned and no returned calls or e-mails . Guess I'm just not important . Surely someone has to have an answer for this question . MSPW ????? :throw:

Good luck. I recently had a similar quuestion around a blower I just purchased. No answer from one shop, and the other basically told me to kick rocks! Guess thats par for the course these days...

Don't they realize we may need to buy some parts . I know I do and wanted to keep it all BDS .

the deep 04-30-2014 10:34 AM

Any other suggestions ? RBS Superchargers where I bought a lot of BDS parts may be willing to help , they are a BDS dealer . I guess they are my last best chance to crack the code.....MSPW .

RBS was always very helpful & great to deal with, recommended highly.I also used Dyers superchargers in summit illinois.gary was great to deal with there.his son, not so much.Might also try mike stawicki at msr performance.doesnt build boat blower motors but builds blower motors exclusively .585-750-1903. Tell him harold sent you.good people.

Are those Quick fuel carbs ? If so, very nice pieces.we used pro systems for our alcohol motors & quick fuel for our gas motors.quick fuel also does alcohol carbs.

Yes , 850 Quickfuel Blower carbs . I've heard and read , mostly here on OSO , that they are the next best thing to fuel injection . I've always had Nickerson build my carbs prier to this .

Well I e-mailed Robbin at RBS Supercharges and got a reply within minutes , now that's service !! She is going to find me an answer . She is a BDS dealer but can get you anything you need for a great price . RBS even had the best price on my Quickfuel blower carbs by a substantial amount . Anyone reading this , now you know where to go !! 530-274-3835

You can also try Brian at DMPE, dude will talk blowers all day long. An expert to say the least.

Good luck!

BTW, that is a great pic! Me needs to upgrade to 871s but my XRs already hate what I have.

Rookie 04-30-2014 09:05 PM

I was just going to suggest DMPE. They are great and as stated earlier Brian is very knowledgeable on blowers.

I have spoken to him . He told me right off what the numbers stamp meant , nobody seems to know what the letters mean although it has been suggested they are the original owners initials . Four letter initials , I don't thing I'm buying that . I have not had a chance to talk with Brian at DMPE .

Not your fault Fix . I'm just a small fish in a sea full of big fish . I'm really surprised one of you guys don't know the answer . All I've found out is I have a stage I blower . Looks like it's anodized on the inside dark grey and still don't know what rotors are in it . I suspect cast because I hear a slight tinkle when rotating them like a little loose debris inside a rotor but are they GM or BDS AirLock ? Maybe I have caught Budman II's disease of over thinking . :poopoo: :party-smiley-004:

MILD THUNDER 05-02-2014 08:44 PM

Icdedppl called BDS not too long ago when he aquired his 10-71 BDS blowers. They told him what stage they were, when they were made, and who they were sold to at that time which was around 1998. His I believe were air loc rotors, stripped on the outside, and insides of rotors.

I wonder why they wont extend the same courtesy to me . They must have seen his avatar........:hitit:

Sorry to say it's going to take me a bit of time . Parts are very expensive as you well know plus I want to do a little more than just throw a blower at it . Too bad some of the vendors here aren't willing to cut us poor bastages even a small break on price . One here advertises a sale on just about everything......everything but what you need , what a crock of chit . Do time , do time brother I'm not wealthy . :angry-smiley-055:

I like this setup the best , nice and clean . http://www.keitheickert.com/p-12398-...p-log-kit.aspx I also want the BDS upgraded throttle linkage . PN #107L with PN #100L-B http://www.blowerdriveservice.com/do...talog-2010.pdf
The rest of what I need will come from Bob Madara and will be kept a secret for now . I don't want to bother him till I save some coin .
Mild , thank you kindly for the offer to help .

What color are the fittings Mike ? Looking for dark blue . My blower will be hanging out for the world to see so I'm looking for bling to match the shiny blower you sold me . The fuel log by itself is $181.50 shipped and no OSO discount on that particular item....:grinser010: PM me a price if you would . Thanks

mike tkach 05-21-2014 09:03 PM

i will check on the color in the am.
