hp 500 fuel

i have a 98 carbed 500 hp i run regular 87 octain gas seeme to run well. just wondering if i should be running high test or not.

I have heard that higher octane leaves more soot on the transom and has no advantages. You may even lose some power. :)

Ditto what Blueman said, be they carbed or EFI.
