If the filter is dirty it explains the pressure drop from 40 to 25-30 but why does it not show when cold?

ill change filters before next run.

there are no thermostats , boat has been running in Ozarks for the last 7 years before i shipped it over here.
just fyi,if you are useing mercury 25-40 it is not synthetic

Running the engine that cold, you need an oil temp that gets hot enough to steam out any condensation that will get in the oil, running oil temps of 225 are great. For those setups that the oil does not get hot enough to boil/steam out moisture are a problem

Ill start changing oil filters and possibly oil and take a spinn next weekend. as far as i understand from surfing around, oil temps around 220-240 are ok and normal however i want to be on 40-50 psi oil pressure. If i run with only the drive suction my water temp might increase and pressure will drop but maybe also oil temp will increase and dont want that. otherwise ill stick to my 100F in water and just try to get oil pressure up slightly

THANKS
