The Sierra ones are even better than the Merc stuff and have brass terminals and only cost about $30 for cap and rotor.

the older one prob 25-35 hours, maybe 15 on the other

Heres my original 2001 cap that came on the boat,

I also sprayed some corrosion stuff on the pick up that corrodes, That was a screw up, it wouldn't fire at all,had to clean it all back off, figure it was too much and would not carry the spark.trigger.

MSD wanted to see the caps, and rotors,They said the would warranty them, help having a buddy at MSD:cool: got new caps on, ran it a little sun am,seem ok, need to get out and run it hard see if its all back good

I've seen this on drag cars before....it was a poor engine ground that was found to be the culprit, after three weeks of chasing.

MSD did say they have had some problems with the caps,he didnt say what,Im not sure if its all their caps or just the hei style, They did warranty them after sending them in, Pretty cool them standing behind their product.

I would bet they had a suppler prob, Prob subing china, Im sure their feel the economy and are cutting cost.

I found a good replacement for the hei,it looks just like the msd dist half the cost, Im fixing swap out one see how it does
