Yeah, Buck; $25 US for one of those impellers is not a bad deal. Wait till you need to buy one in Canada RIGHT NOW cause your'e on vacation, on an island, and the only guy you can paddle to that has one says he can help you out for about $60 Canadian. Oh, by the way; he had a couple of scrunched gaskets that he figured he couldn't sell so he generously thru them in. And I hope you know I'm talking just the part here; I did the labor!! I guess I need to go look at the reciept from the last one I bought. Seems like I was giving around $10 for them.

Its a Jabsco retail price was just a bit less than Merc one best price I have seen so far was from Boat US. Impeller can be replaced without removing the pump just the rear cover.

I replaced mine with the brass Jabsco. I had the back plate machined to accept threaded AN fittings. Now it's all expensive plumbing:p Oh well, no screw clamps to dink with and it looks good.

The original post said "has anyone else found these cracked" I recently took my boat in for a new distributer cap, wires, plugs, and some other stuff. I took it out to the lake and was overheating before I got to the no wake bouys(spelling?) Morons had run it dry to the point of obliterating my impellor and housing!
Duh...which kind of boat is it you can run out of the water???
NONE!!! :D

SeaDated,
I had a hairline crack in one of mine. It only had a couple of hours on it. It could have been from over tightening. I had the Marina send it to Merc. They replaced it with no questions asked. I wonder if they had a bad batch.

Could be a bad batch. I better watch the other pump closely. I'm so glad that pump didn't break when I was crossing Lake Ontario. I think I'll purchase an extra pump housing just for safety.

Ran into a guy in a Talon running the Black lake in northern Mich
boat would run over 100 with blower big block carried spare water pumps with him cracked housings all the time. Thats when I started looking for a better one.
