welding Lightning headers

The Daytona I bought came with a set of UGLY Lightning Dry headers.
Both headers leak at the head flange at the top of the port where the inner tube connects to the flange. Both are the second back from the front of the engine.
Is it possible to reweld these as a temporary repair until the new ones get here.

Also I am planning on building a 598 CI NA engine is the 2.25 primary tube worth it. I am going with dry to the tip again.

It is stainless steel, so you would need to find someone who is well versed with welding stainless. I don't think you can get a good weld just using a garden variety MIG. TIG might be the way to go, but I'm no expert on welding - one look at the beads I lay down would confirm that. :)

Also, if the cracks are the result of corrosion, the metal might be too thin to weld without blowing thru with a larger hole than you started with.

Tube cracked or just the weld? Tig weld would be the way to go. Should be an easy fix for an experienced welder.

I brought them over to Dave Wesseldyke - He is going to give it a go at repairing them.
