I plan to run it on 87 octane with projected tip plugs, cast pistons, 210* water stat, and 39* of locked timing. Shooting for an air fuel ratio around 15:1, for good MPG. I am hoping for 650hp at 4000rpm. I really need the midrange cruise

Y not just use a 4 cylinder?

thanks but my statement did not need correcting, there is a reason 4.250 is common and 4.375 is not but if someone wants to build a 4.375 stroke engine in a short deck more power to him,i wont do it but what do i know!

Woops, sorry I misread your post. I looked past "stroke longer than 4.250"
My apologies

Mild, I'm going to have to spec a 3/4 race cam for that build.
Just my professional opinion...

I can't believe Mild forgot the 3/4 cam in his build specs . :lolhit:

You guys think 3/4 will give me enough low end ? I want max power between 1200-2400rpm. Don't forget this is a true marine offshore engine

This wouldn't be quite so funny if it weren't completely true! Just wait, a post will pop up in a couple weeks and many aspects outlined above will be utilized. Classic

Don't forget "I want a very lopey idle, don't want to buy aftermarket exhaust and want to keep My captain calls."

Can I put a ProCharger on my 3.0L? If so, should I step up to a Gen II Alpha or will the Gen I be fine?
