Yes (sadly, most modern engines seem to use a mix)

9/16 = 14 mm fyi. Arctic cat is famous for that

fixed it for ya. But a 14mm wrench works good to remove a bolt with a 9/16 head

Going back to sleds. Ya what the hell dose cat engineers think mixing SAE and metric fasteners on the same sled :angry-smiley-038:

But that is why I ride a Doo...... :).

I'm all for metric on everything! When I renovated my house I used a metric tape mesure....so much easier than doing the math with fractions

most of the world uses the metric system,we were actuially way behind the rest of the world when we started with the metric threads&fasteners.imo it is narrow minded to blame jimmy carter or anyone else for attempting to conform to the rest of the world.

Jimmy carter was the jackass who stopped us from switching to the metric systems decades ago. Amongst his other disasters. Passed by congress, moving forward and then last minute personally blocked by Carter. He is 100% personally responsible for us being decades behind while he catered to the auto industry. Not being up on your history is narrow minded.

I believe all domestics are metric now. Not sure when GM started with metric motors but the bodies have been metric forever. I wish everything was metric. The only thing I dont like about metric fasteners is they have 3 or4 differnt common thread pitchs.

t ain't the wrench size, it is the threads u gotta worry about. u can get away with metric wrenches on sae bolt heads-usually and visa versa, but don't go mixing up what bolt goes in what hole...
