fresh 468 with procharger with a 3 lbs pulley built by a local builder that has built motors for 20 + yeas. After breaking in owner found some water in oil and he is asking roughly about 10 grand less than what its worth. could the procharger be causeing this issue or should i stick to the normal procedure looking at intake gaskets, heads/ gaskets or water getting into motor from exhaust.

I'd look at normal issues. Also know cam specs. Wrong cam causes reversion. Exhaust leaks. Gasket leaks. Cracked head. Cracked block. Many possibilities

the only thing causing it procharger related is the intercooler might be leaking but that would cause a hydrolocked motor.. could be that the engine is running too cool and not burning off the condensation.

Didnt see aftermarket exhaust so my first guess reversion. How much water we talking? Little bit or full on milkshake with higher dipstick oil level? Had that with mine similar engine build minus charger 3 hrs later on rebuild turned out to be the intake manifold.

not real sure when i talked to the person they said noticed higher oil level on dip stick and drain then noticed it being pretty milky today going to look at it today but owner doesn't want to put the boat on the water just on muffs.

also reversion was my first thought as well.

i had one that drove me nuts,,changed the oil like 20 times ,,went throught 100 qts of oil and i was pi$$ed,,i thought the machine shop never screwed up,,would hold 20 psi of pressure over night.. it ended up being a exhaust guide that was replaced.. would only do it when it got wan or hot..

I've seen people put in t-stats...which is a no no with the factory Procharger crossover set-up. The t-stat will block all water flow and the Bravo sea water pump will win. LOL.

However, there are many places water can get in from a 'newly' rebuilt motor and a used one for that matter.

So what exactly is your intention?

Buying a "troubled engine" because you can get it cheap?
Helping the "owner" fix his troubled engine?

Since you stated "owner" and not "buddy" I don't see the logic in either scenario.
