How many running hours does it take to use a quart of oil???

We have run a good 10 hours since I noticed the oil smell and have noticed no loss of oil. I ran all last season without using a drop.

The oil is still nice and clean.

The idea of the oil on the outside of the engine is starting to make sence to me know. It does look moist.
