575 sc
Does anyone know the cam spec's to the 575 sc carburetor motor
You mean 525sc? or 575sci with dual throttle body setup?
Didn't they make a 575 carb I have some motors I am building with B&M 250
No such thing as a 575SC.
There is carbed 575HP that Merc made a few back in the late 80's/early 90's but they are rare. There is a carbed 525SC and there is a 575SCI with dual throttle bodies. |
Agree about 575 SCi. and some added info. Merc Racing in the 2000s - want to say 2002 or 03 thru 2006 I know had a HP575 SCi rated at 575 hp based off an 8.2 that had a 256 CID Holley / Weiand Super Charger with TBI injection using a MEFI 3 controller.
It was the 600 sc does anyone know the cam spec's
Whatever the case you don't want any of those cams.
The cam in a 600 sc is 240/240 .559/.559 110*
It's the same cam that was in the 575 SC Eddie |
Thanks

If you are interested I have one for sale from my 575sci.
Whats wong with the cam
Well, flat tappet is the first drawback. With today's low zinc content oils roller cams are king. They free up hp and allow more aggressive ramping. I am not an expert bye any means btw...but I am a technical guy and would not attempt to steer you wrong. However I would not attempt to spec a cam for you.
Just wondering what would you use instead of the flat tappet cam want to install hyd roller does crane make a direct cross to roller..
tks chuck 575sci |
There are lots of proven upgrade combo's for the 575SCi.
I would probably lean towards something close to the 525EFI cam. Its a Crane 168741 ground on a 114 lob sep. I would call some marine engine builders with experience bumping the hp up on 575SCi. |
