500 efi exhaust issues
 

Recently I saw a pair of 500 efi early models with issues. One had the headers replaced and I believe both had water squirting out of the diverter pipes into the boat. The weld had a leak in it external. I know one did I saw this with my own eyes. The diverter pipes must have had issues inside also with the mechanism because they did not quiet the boat but the electric solenoids were operating. Has anyone else had problems with this exhaust from cmi. I know 525 had some problems but I thought it was only them and the 500s style was ok. Anyone have a ruined 500 efi from headers. What would be a good replacement for them or would you fix them.

500EFI headers are regular CMI E tops.

Yes the y diverters for the silient choice was leaking and a pair of headers were changed out for leaking. Thought those headers were good. All CMI

A lot better than 525EFI headers, but they don't last forever, especially if run in salt and not taken care of.
