Power steering not working replaced parts...?
I replaced the pump and actuator and still don't have power steering. Fluid is swirling in the pump.. The steering cable is good. What else could it be?

thats all the major parts, if you are getting nothing have to be something with the pump, did you have to switch pressure regulator/spring in where pressure line attaches ?

I did just replace the pump and swapped out the regulator and spring from the old one. Power steering never worked since I bought the boat.. the regulator and spring looked identical from the old pump to the new pump.. Also I don't know what your asking by if the slots are straight up and down?

so spring, valve(correct direction) , the nut right ? and you are sure cable is free ? possible cooler clogged on return side, never seen it happen but ?? you could just bypass it to see, maybe a hose came apart inside restricting the fluid but as long as you assembled the pressure regulator correctly, sounds like a junk pump to me...

Alright a buddy of mine has a spare assembled pump I'm going to bolt it up next week and see what happens. I believe i installed everything correctly. Once i replaced the actuator the pump reservoir was almost dry again so I would think fluid is moving through the system? When I had the actuator out the cable moved easily and felt like it would if my power steering was working.. Also the out-drive moved back and forth with no effort.

after installing the actuator you should start the engine for about 15 seconds, shut off refill, do this until the level stays full and this keeps from getting to much air in the system, them move back and forth, shut down let sit for 10-15 mins and most air will self bleed out...the system operates with approx 1000psi so it can move fluid but now work..
