Pump for toilette and post-swim hotwash
 

I am repairing/restoring an '89 Scarab 3, which has an electric toilette on it. At some point it must have had a water pump to send water from the sea-cock to the toilette. I know that some pumps, like sink or deckwash pumps, have a pressure shut off. Others, like bilge or ballast pumps, are activated by a switch. Which pump is typically used for an electric toilette? How would I tell which one I am supposed to use?

What is a good pump brand to use for this type of task?

I thought of another idea, which is to use the same pump for a post swim hotwash pump. I have a small heat exchanger that I can use like a heater core, with engine coolant acting as a heat source. Has anyone tried this, and is there any lessons to know before I make an attempt?

Most of these type toilets use a self-priming impeller to draw water and are not tied into the pressure side of the boat's water system. I just figured this one out on my boat... If you are looking for a replacement, I just installed an Oceans 5 manual to electtric conversion kit on mine and so far pretty happy.
