What oil should be used in trim pumps?

What oil should be used in the standard mercruiser trim pumps? I need to add oil and I don't have any of the manuals.

Trans Fluid?
Motor Oil?
Hydrualic Oil?
Power Steering Fluid?

Thanks!

Stevel,

By using thinner viscosity motor oils, that will enable your pumps to work much faster.

I was told years ago to use 20 or 30 weight non detergent motor oil. You can get it at NAPA

Typical Mercruiser. My manual says 10W30.

i have used tranny fluid in a few of my boats for years and have never had a problem........i think tranny fluid is a little thicker which gives me better accuracy during trimming
