It's simply a semantics problem. Everyone is talking about "falootin" cams, however, no one has addressed the original question of "HIGH falootin" cams!!! Totally different animal!

I didn't know if he was just phucking with me or what, so with a dead straight face I told him that we used the entire cam, not just 3/4's of it. He looked at me like I had 3 eyes and flippers and turned around and walked off. It was several years later before I found out what he was talking about. I honestly had no idea at that time. Guess it was a little before my time.

Back in the early 70s we could race out on Gratiot Ave. and Woodward Ave in the metro Detroit. I had and still have a 1969 Camaro with a 396/375,with some 12:1 pistons and a few other minor mods. But I put 350 badges on the front fenders and beat up on a lot of guys. They would always ask how big is the cam in your engine? I would tell them it was 2 1/2 ft BIG and was a real ***** to hammer into the block. words would insue and birds would fly!! I miss those days. Glad I kept the car.

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered 3 of the MSD 6530 Digital Programmable 6AL-2 boxes. What do you guys think as far as timing curve & the best way to set them up?

I don't think you want them. Are they marine unites If not send them back. I had the 7531 boxes in my boat took a hot chick for a ride and it took a s h I t . STILL A GOOD TIME . Just my 2cents. If you keep them hope they are good. The best box they make is the 7al. Most MSD drag race stuff sucks. I lost a lot of money just trying to help you out. MSD guy said RPM over time kills them.
