What's a 502 block worth

I have a 415 hp 502 block pistons rods and crank I'm thinking about selling. Does anyone have any idea what it's worth?

Im guessing about 2K to 2500, a grand for the rotating assembly and another for the block, as long as things are in good working order

Yeah I'm sure there will be some machining necessary

As a buyer I wouldn't go over over a bone (1000) unless the seller had in writing from an engine assembly/machine shop business that the block and reciprocating assembly were rebuildable.
I'm not doubting the seller but would want to limit my losses if it wasn't.
I've seen to many motorcycle engines that the seller sold in confidence that it was salvageable but never had an inspection by a professional.
If it checked out I'd top out @ 2500 max depending on how desperately I needed it, preferably 1500 to 2k.
Hope this helps you.

See ya,
Kelly

Good luck with $1000 on a 502 shortblock .I agree it has to be rebuildable.. Experienced buyer should be able to check for himself if disassembled....502's are not at this point in time plentiful

recently sold 3 502 blocks all got 1000 to 1500 each ..502 is a tough 1 to find ..yet there is a pair in swap shop for 5000 with rotating assy and no one will touch them don't get it ..they all have forged steel cranks good dimple rods and forged pistons ..gm never made them any other way .no cast ever in 502

For $1500 you can see why quite a few just save a few more dollars and buy a DART block! I agree, anyone looking for a block should be versed in checking it out prior to dropping any money. Good luck with the sale.

I had one 502 shortblock from a 525 efi I sold for 3,000 today .Standard crank and nice freshwater block ..One cylinder slightly scuffed. It was disassembled

Exactly. It's going to the machine shop either way, so you can't factor in much savings there. Plus, skimping on the block is a false economy no matter how you slice it.

Motor

With the Manley H beam rods, correct, that's good money,
