here is a few idea, not sure what type of boat it us, sounds fairly light at 1700lbs, if the thickest point is near the top of the gunwales, you might be able to squeeze it kind of like squeeze a balloon in the middle by using ratchet tiedowns. also by putting one side of the trailer on a ramp, and letting air out of the opposite side tire or removing the tire, it might change the angle of the boat one side higher and one side lower to give you enough clearance, also wood gives a little so if the garage is wood it might help by twisting (moving one side of the boat higher and the other side lower to give more space as it comes in) just a few thoughts

you said its about 1700 pounds. strip every bit of weight off it you can. Go to store and get keg of beer, a bunch of burgers and dogs, fire the grill up and call everyone you know. then with a bunch of guys pick it up off the trailer and man handle it into the garage twisting and tilting as necessary.

Bigger door is the answer. mine will fit width but not length. So tonight I travel with boat to the big barn 40x80 for the winter.plus side,I'm bringing back the snowmobiles.SAweet

1) Pointy end first.
2) Speed* *If at first you don't succeed; add more speed. Neither the truck nor the garage won. They both lost. LOL....what a mess ! Dad, it won't fit. Yes it will, move out of the way. |
Jack up one side on trailer and block it up just to get through door?

Oh you made my day 3pointstar He was the type that could take down a barn by looking at it. God bless'm. Myself and my older sister where left to repair it. If we didn't he would brake out the glue and duct tape. We had a nice work area in the basement with many tools. He wouldn't touch the tools, he'd reach for his famous shelving (on the right side) that consisted of about 200 different glues and several types and colors of duct tape. She became a electrical and biological engineer. I own a shop and design some parts. Thanks dad ! LMAOF. |
