boat length?
 

Not wanting to sound silly but how are these boats measured? I understand a 271 is supposed to be 27' 1" but does that include the built in swim platform? On the Baja Outlaw the swim platform is a bolt on so does a 25' mean it is actually 25' of boat?

Correct. If it is a bolt on platform (at least Baja) then that is not included in the claimed length. As an example my 36 Outlaw is 35' 7" without the bolt on platform and 37' something" including the platform.

A 36 Outlaw put transom to transom beside a Powerquest 38 Avenger is the same length, maybe a hair longer. Just an example!

But you will have to get a special "Fountain" tape measure that automatically subtracts 3 feet...:party-smiley-004:

Overall length includes swim platform if it is molded into the boat. I don't think any manufacturer includes a bolt on platform in the length measurement.

Isn't the 270 checkmate convincor just a 253 with the bolt on platform included?

Well then how does fountain measure them.My 1984 33' 10 meter is 4 feet longer horizontal from the bottom back corner of transom to the place where its sit's in the trailer piece at the bow than my 1991 32'fever.

all lengths are centerline, CG passed a ruling at some point letting manufactures include bow pulpits and platforms as long as they were molded part of the hull in the length...
