Can you keep the thermostat and circulating pump on roots type blower motors?
 
It seems that all the pictures of blower motors I see have crossovers without thermostats. Then, I read posts about condensation in the engines due to lower water temps. Is there a way to leave the stock circulating pump in place and run a t-stat?

the higher hp supercharged engines need to run cooler to fight detonation.cooler water temp,not oil temp.

Some guys run them some guys don't. Thermostat no thermostat you will still have condensation. As soon as you beat on it a little thermostat or not the water should get boiled out. If it doesn't then there is probably another issue.

I've had my current boat for 9 seasons and never had visible condensation. I think that retaining the thermostat has contributed to this, as well as increased longevity. I am considering upgrading the mini-blower and want to keep the thermostat. I know that the Merc engines had thermostats but the parts are mostly NLA for the carbed engines and very expensive if you can find them.

Is that an add on? Is it designed for intake with no thermostat provision like mine? Is it available for sale ?

It was designed for the 71 series intake manifolds, and with an adapter would fit some Whipple manifolds. I designed them years back when I was at CMI, I have a couple & I know CMI still has a few. They never really tried to market them because of the cost they felt they had to get out of them. This was due to how much I had into the research & development time, and cost to build. Its a shame because they work so good, and are a very nice billet housing. I will see if I can get some pics of just the stat housing.

If you know it or not every motor condensates weather it be in a Toyota Prius, Dodge Viper, Bayliner or whatever it will condensate it's a piece of metal. As soon as the oil gets some temperature in it the water boils out. That's not why they run a water thermostat. The reason to run a water thermostat is to get some temperature in the block and make it expand if you have an aluminum piston that is superheated by combustion it's going to expand a lot the block needs to expand with it if not the piston is going to scuff/ stick in the bore. When you build a motor with the intention of not running a thermostat you leave extra piston to wall clearance to compensate for a block that will not expand.
