Hey guys I have a Edelbrock Carb. I need to give it more of an accelerator pump shot...The book mentions moving the arm to the hole "Closer" to the Carberator to give a stronger longer shot.
Well Which is "Closer" to the carb? the arm has 3 possible positions. Top,Middle (stock setting)or Bottom. WHICH ONE IS IT?

Disconnect the throttle linkage from the carb. Move the throttle arm on the carb back and forth and notice how the accel pump moves. Pick the hole that gives the accel pump more movement. Reinstall throttle linkage to carb. Go boating.

rjcardinal is right. The hole closest to the arm's pivot should give the most action.

it's the top hole. if you put the linkage arm in the bottom hole, the plunger would already be part-way down the shaft and the fuel shot would be less.

Well...Tried the pump lever positioning...It helped but only slightly...I called Edelbrock and they told me to go up on the springs...I am going to try that tomorow.....Will let everyone know what happens.....

I ditched my slip in silencers and went with Drew's Shotguns and the following happened. First I picked up 2mph (GPS) Second I got a hesitation/bog when I throttle down. It happens right away lasts maybe 2-3 seconds then runs (accelerates) great. Mid-Range has REALLY improved. I am still dialing in the secondary jets. I figured the hesitaton/bog was the pump. Guess I have a lean transition problem...........
