How much psi can run through a AN fitting before it blows off of a stainless braided line?

Part 2. Has anyone ever try to make steering lines out of AN fittings with stainless braided lines?

catalogs tell you the burst strength.I'd follow that.
as for power steering,,look at hydraulic line thats rate at 2800psi.It may come in a stainless braid casing.

Yes, and I tell him how uneasy I feel about it every time I see it. I've seen -AN oil hoses leak and come apart. Please buy some 2000-3000psi hydraulic hose. You can get it in braised stainless. Even one of the marine hydraulic steering manufacturers had a bad run of their push-on/compression steering hose.

Thanks for the info. I have hydraulic crimp hoses on mine as well and I will be putting stainless braided hydraulic hoses on. Its winter and looking at everything I'm taking off the boat and was just scratching my head wondering.

I am starting to do the same thing.I was told to use the tfe hose and fittings many manufactures make it. I would like to know if anybody has used that? I just want it to match all my other hose.

Just so you all know, your local hydraulic shop can crimp 4000 psi hydraulic line with JIC type fittings. JIC just happens to use a 37 degree flare identical to you AN fittings. If you're talking about any type of substantial pressure this is the way to go.

I would also recommend you go with the pressed on ones with that pressure...had all my steering lines done locally that way after having issues with the screw together ones blowing off....there was a long thread on that a couple of years back...
