T-Mone,

I would suggest to you that a marginal reduction in boost of 1psi may be perceived as a durability asset long term. However a timing reduction from 34º to 29º may end in the liability column.

Bob

Bob can you elaborate on the timing???

But you also made the statement that 2 x 1050's is too much carb.

So....what makes you say that ?

what i meant was i had 2 an i was told get 750 thats what he liked to use on my combo i guess, and seeing his cu i fig 1050 was much no?

Yes im curious about the timing also? I would fig with alittle less timing it would be safer w the fuel. Again i could be wrong

you are a paying member so you can post a pic of the dyno sheet.i am calling you out.post it and prove me wrong.almost 1000 hp with 6 lbs of boost at 6300.rpm on 93 pump gas,I DON,T THINK SO.

29 total will put the egt,s sky high, even inconal exhaust valves don,t like that very long, not to mention the heat the seats are seeing.

8psi, stage 4 BDS 10-71, 651 cam, head work by the best (hi-flow heads) and 2 Nickerson 850`s (soon to be 1050`s) 32* timming = 893hp @ 6500.
So that`s a sweet correction factor on your dyno :D

Edit:

540ci. 8 to 1

Mike, I run 30* & 91 octane. I would be afraid to run 32 or higher on 91 octane. Do you have egt numbers on you motor...like say at 28* 30* 32* etc... Just curious how much it differs... Also, Im sure you realize, that cyl pressure & afr, change where the best timing lies from motor to motor. I think thats why some guys that run more timing in boosted motors claim they run better when way fat, like 10 to 1. Merc ran 32* w/ 8to 1 900sc & 28* in a 7.5 to 1 800sc. I dont think the 800 had inconel vales?
