Once a "rope" goes on a boat it becomes a "line"

And once that "line" gets tangled in the prop it becomes a bill

I've measured three times - and cut it twice and it is still too short!

Lines: http://www.mooringlines.com/lines.htm

You'll want 5/8" lines min. Depending on boat length, you'll want lines long enough to be able to run a spring line in the front and a little shorter in the back so they are more managable for tying to the dock or another boat.

Fenders: http://www.westmarine.com/buy/taylor...05_156_001_005

There are other/cheaper places to buy these but every year West Marine will put these on sale where you can get 3 for $99 or something along those lines. Again, depending on boat size you want 8" x 20" min. I like the Big B's as you can hang them vertically or horizontally and there is no built in eye at the end that can tear and leak..
