Tried Cranes in one motor, they were undersize for the lifter bores and it lost oil pressure, we had our best luck with the Crower 66291H. They may be better I don't know.

You still running bushing lifters?

No, that was several motors ago when I tried the groove lock lifters.

How did they hold up and what would fail on them? My friend is thinking of using them I told him not to.

They were the Crowers, can't remember what destroyed them, may have been one of our spring issues. At that time is was around $600 to machine the block and a $1000 for the lifters.
