And look at the section of heat vs valvespring psi changes as installed.

Oil cools your valvetrain.

Use plenty of oil and make sure your oil cooler keeps it to the correct temp.

need the cooling to valve springs...in drag race engine not run long enough to be a issue...

bcfountain 01-29-2015 09:19 AM

oil cools and carrys the heat back to the cooler to release the heat into the water and out the system.

Actually they are using spring oilers on drag stuff. What they have found is it makes an $800 set of valve springs last a lot longer. We are talking 1.250" inch lift stuff.

A friend called me and asked about oil restrictors,he was told he needs them, it is a solid roller motor. The instructions say on the lifters not use restrictors.

Restricting oil to the lifters is not a good idea. Today's lifters are designed with high pressure pin oiling. Restricting oil to the lifter defeats the design purpose that went into the lifter and is asking for trouble.

so I think this all comes down to, is your friend going to listen to some guy who told him to use restrictors or the people who designed and built the lifters he is using.

bad idea on a boat
