Carb Selection
Looking for advice on the brand of carb to select for my build and why. Holley, Demon, Quickfuel etc.
I am looking for an 800/850 cfm. Thanks |
Holleys are tried and true, but Quickfuels are very nice out of the box.

Can't go wrong with the New Holley or Quickfuel. Unless this is an all out Maximum effort deal I can't see any benefit from a "custom carb". Me personally I don't care for the Barry Grant stuff.

If you're buying new, call Patrick at Pro Systems. The carb will be custom made and tuned to your application. If I remember right, his prices are about what you are going to pay for an off the shelf Holley HP but it comes dialed in for you.

Also if your buying an HP series carb, the number is the not relate to the CFMs. So an HP 950 does not flow 950 CFMs- more like 830 CFM's. I know that is what my Pro System carb flowed and it used a 950 body.

I can get a Pro-Systems for $300 less than a Holley or Quick Fuel and I would not buy one. The last one I had I gave it away. My cost on HP 1000 was $625 and I literally gave it away for free cause I was done trying to make it right.

Mine were perfect but they were $250 ea more than a quick fuel, that a lot of people seem to be having great luck with.

i am not a fan of pro systems carbs and i won,t get into why.imo the quik fuel carb is the best value in out of the box carbs today.
