What's the difference between 088 and 2934 heads?

I put my freshened 088 heads on last night and pulled the valve covers on the other engine off and saw they were 2934.

I have access to some 088 heads for free which I will completely go through so I have a ferret match on the motors, but I was just curious......

the 2934 head is a gen6 502 open chaimber marine head.it should be the same as the 088 head.the 088 head was used on 454-502 gen 5 marine from 92 and up.

The last two are current working part numbers. All heads from GM have the 2.180”/2.190” intake valve (as delivered from GM)

Verify block compatibility

Okay, so it sounds like I don't need to be worried at this point. I'll just have the 2934's gone through same as the others and keep on trucking....

I was worried I might have steered you wrong bin in what you put together for me. I should have spent the 2 minutes pulling the other valve cover off before now, but it doesn't sound like it would have necessarily changed the approach
