Camshaft sprocket question
Do I still use the cam retainer with the Torrington bearing? I can't in my mind see how that works because it appears the retainer and bearing would try to occupy the same space?
That said if you don't use the retainer I don't see what is holding it in unless the cam is cut ever so slightly to push the cam rearward? |
Bolt on the GM Gen VI cam retainer (PN 10168501) using two 1/4-20 x 1/2 buttonhead T27 Torx fasteners (PN 14093637).
*torx bolts should be taken to 105*In*lbs Retainer holds the cam in the tunnel. The Torrington is the buffer from the gear to the block/retainer surface. Bob |
Thanks Bob. I'm getting there
