Gafrig VS livorsi sending unit
I've got newer livorsi engine oil temp gauges and wondered if the gafrig sending units work on those or I need the livorsi ones. The rest of my gauges are gafrig however I'd like to purchase all from same place.

If they are Gaffrig Precision Instruments, then they are Livorsi.
Gaffrig Performance is a different company. It really depends on exactly what gauges you have and exactly what senders you have. |

I took pic of gafrig earlier when I was at shop however the bubble rap was on them. They say gafrig precision instrument right under gafig. Trs John |
Same gauges I have in my AT. I've replaced a few of mine because of crazing lenses.
Gaffrig Precision Instruments became Livorsi Marine after a lawsuit over who had rights to the "Gaffrig" brand name. Gaffrig Performance (Mike Gaffrig??)is still in business, I think, but I have read about a lot complaints on here about slow or no deliveries. The ohm of the sender needs to be matched with the gauge. The sender tells the needle how much to move. |
^^^^^ Griff is 100 % correct senders are ohm specific and need to match the gauges to what they rated for. The same goes for fuel tank senders ohm's specific to match the fuel gauge. The temp sensor / sender is one I see a lot where they owner installs the wrong one from the auto store - then they come a calling..

Tks, I went to the gafrig site and found what I asumed I needed for the gafrigs I have. Was going to call them today but got busy. Will get the water temps from cp performance. Maybe while placing order through them they can advise on the gafrigs. Just wanna be done with it and do it right the first time and not be trouble shooting after everything is plumbed and back in the boat.
Griff what u said makes since and recall dealing with that years ago regarding the brand/ohm's etc. kinda sucks it has to be that way but hey it is what it is. No standard in anything.... |
Any other place to purchase gafrig senders please pass on otherwise will call cp tomorrow.
Trs again John |
Your gauges say Gaffrig Precision Instruments so they are actually Livorsi Marine.
Call Livorsi direct or a Livorsi dealer. |
