Spark Timing. How it works.

I came across these series of videos, and thought I'd share it with you guys. Most already understand this concept, but I think these vid's may help some get a better idea of spark timing events. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqnqap0SBs0

Hey rob. I think locking it out was popular because there really wasn't a way to get lots of advance at idle with most systems. So, guys would lock them to help their big cammed engines idle.

If I remember right you have typical msd setups ? If so, typical the largest bushing in the advance kit is an 18 Deg. So, if your running say 34 total, that would give you 16* at idle. You can get a custom 10* bushing, which would give you 24 at idle.

Or go to a programmable ignition box.

Joe , you post a lot of great information, thank you for the effort!

Keep up the research Joe... have you been playing with a timing curve for your new daytona box? Anything figured out yet?
