Redcorvette, i'd find an engine builder your comfortable with, and then make a decision on which brand of heads to use for the build after discussing with your builder. There is more than one brand out there. Just my opinion.

gettin ready to give steve schmidt a try for a short block(basically stock 454 mag).i will let you know in a month.

^^^ What is Steve Schmidt info / contact and website THX.

I would give Bob at Marine Kinetics a call at the very least especially for setting up your valve train.

If the Northeast is not within your distance, I would give Mark at Throttles Performance a call in North Dakota.

Just saying what is wrong with a person that gives out 100 to 1 of good advice for others then once in while throws a plug in for himself and or something for sale. Man I wish years ago I could of had a go to person from the very start of working on boats. I would careless how many plugs they were throwing out as long you could learn value information especially for free..

^^^^ not sure now if he is talking about the Pro Stock NHRA engine builder or the guy who has built marine engines.

Red corvette; I'm here in your backyard and could give you plenty of options from experience.

Steve Schmidt did build quite a few marine engines years ago. Not so much anymore.
