My Imco Powerflow risers are leaking. I rook one off today and saw no signs of internal leaks but I am going to replace all the gaskets. My question is should I use additional sealent? When I got it back from the builder it was loaded with the red stuff. I think after he removed them he reused them.

the reason i made my own riser gaskets was that i didn't want to wait a week to get them in the mail. i didn't use any sealant because the cork is much more flimsy than the rigid gasket material the factory's use. it probably would have squeezed out the sides when i torqued the riser down from the sealant causing the gasket to "slip" out the sides.
if your surfaces are clean and flat a little high temp sealant is ok, but you don't have to. it's more of a personal preferance.
