Carpet under seat bottom bases or not?
 

I will be carpeting soon and wondered if there might be any advice on having carpet under seat bottom bases or not. Bases will be used for speakers also. My thought was to glue and screw bases down to make sure their secured well however not sure if it's a good idea to have cutouts where water can seep or wouldn't it really matter. Seat bases will be carpeted also. I remember years ago doing a project where I installed bases over carpeted floor and I wasn't solid nor ever felt very secure.

Btw carpet is 28 ounce

Otherwise will just plan on mounting seat bottoms/basses prior to carpet so I've gots wood on wood. I may even put a layer of glass or two (1708) around the base to help secure. Just cut some 7" strips so I'd have like 3 1/2" up on the bases and same on floor.

I think they will stay more secure without carpet under them.
