Need an answer to back pressure

im not sure if boats are as critical as a car. So that's why I'm asking. I see everyone talking about gutting there corsa tips/ saying it runs a lot better and is much loud. Now does it actually run better, or are you just being tricked by the sound. Some one with some dyno or race exeriance could chime in on this it would be great. Thanks !
