Good call John aka BUP. I remember the convos you and I had, but didn't put together the old/new motor story as you did.

Although the position shim might have worked, I bit the bullet and upgraded to the new sensors. The rub is the hassle could of been avoided if the builder provided some documentation of the timing set generation installed, 20 hours of my life would have been saved. Not wanting to pull the mills again, had to strip the front end off, get under the motors far enough to loosen the first (5) oil pan bolts on each side, drop the pan and pull the timing chain cover. As you can see, the builder used the new timing set 2004+
