Raylar 496 IAC valve.
Was told by someone that the IAC valve that Raylar sends with their kits an upgraded ford IAC that doesn't burn up every two seasons. Does anyone know the ford part number? Thanks

A quick OSO search on "Ford IAC" turns up this:

Correct I have the ford one. Found that thread myself. I was told Raylar has one that is a strong motor or actuator in it that won't burn up. That's what I'm on the hunt for. Thanks though

There is outside related factors that can cause an IAC to fail and or get stuck in position no matter if it is the greatest one ever made.
you can double the life most of the times with proper maintenance keeping the IAC alive. |
Never heard of Raylar having a specific IAC. But if you think they do, why not call Raylar?
I've yet to burn one up but I keep my flame arrestor clean and replace the IAC muffler every other year. |
They are closed for the week.

read post 13 in the link below. I have plastered this up here for a while now. I have customers with 12, 10 year old IAC's and all the way down that never had a IAC failure - maintenance is a big key to longevity.
Read post 13 and to add proper steady voltage from proper clean connections and proper clean battery connections and a strong battery & clean tight connections will always add life to any electrical component. Also keep moisture away and any overheat conditions away electrical resistance is a killer to http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...-please-2.html |
Good info BUP guys. That's me in the post above you guys searched for. My IAC muffler at that time was black as a chunk of coal as was the IAC muffler cavity was similar. I used a Napa Echlin IAC, removed and fully cleaned TB and FA. Replaced muffler, No problems since. Plan on replacing the muffler as needed in the future.
